报告摘要: Which positive operators in a factor von Neumann algebra can be written as sums of projections? This question is studied by Victor Kaftal, Ping Wong Ng, and Shuang Zhang. They obtained beautiful results on the question. In this talk we report some new progress on the question. This is joint work with Xinyan Cao and Zhaolin Yao.

报告人简介：房军生，2008年于美国新罕布什尔大学获得博士学位，2008-2010年于美国德克萨斯农工大学做博士后，2010-2015年于大连理工大学工作，教授，博士生导师，2016起于河北师大工作。主要研究方向为泛函分析和算子代数，在Journal of Functional Analysis等国际知名杂志上发表20余篇数学论文。先后获得了国家优青、国家自然科学基金重点项目和面上项目基金以及新世纪优秀人才基金支持。
